Help fight hunger in the River Valley and travel to Africa, too, during this special story time. Beatrice’s Goat (for ages 4-8) will pull moms, dads and kids of all ages into the sweet story of how a goat helped fight poverty and hunger for a Ugandan family. Reader Julie Woods Moncrief worked for Heifer International, which commissioned this book’s publication, and now works for the River Valley Regional Food Bank – two hunger-fighting organizations. Guests are requested to bring nonperishable food items (or a dollar) to help stock food pantries for summer. A drawing will be held for a soft, plush goat, and we bet the winner will want to name it “Mugisa.” Free refreshments include a taste of cold, refreshing goat’s milk, and crackers with goat cheese and jelly.
Admission: Donation of nonperishable food
